Five years after the sky burned, Skjoldheim has become more than a refuge.

Children run through muddy spring lanes. Boats move between settlements. The forge rings, the ovens smoke, fields are worked, records are kept, and a generation too young to remember the old world is beginning to grow up inside the new one.

What began as one prepared farm on a remote Norwegian island is becoming a community.

Why The Guardians of Skjoldheim stands apart

Book One asked whether a scattered group of people could survive the collapse of the modern world.

 

Book Two asks what happens when they succeed.

Skjoldheim now has workshops, food systems, boats, records, children, trade routes, disputes, responsibilities, and knowledge worth preserving.

 

That success creates a different kind of danger. A community capable of feeding people, warning settlements, preserving information, defending routes, and intervening against violence is no longer powerless.

 

The question becomes what limits that power.

At the same time, the geography expands northward into archives, Arctic waters, and a mystery that began with the final signal at the end of The Sky Went Wrong.
