The Solstorm Saga™
A five-book saga about the people who survive the end of the world and then face something harder: building one worth living in.

What This Saga Is
The Solstorm Saga™ is a five-book post-collapse epic set in Norway, following a handful of survivors as they try to build something most stories of the end never reach: not just safety, but a civilization worth defending.
What begins with survival on a remote island grows into a larger struggle about memory, legitimacy, restraint, and the cost of power.
Across twenty years, the saga moves from collapse and settlement to the founding of a Guardian order, a six-year circumnavigation of the globe, a reckoning with institutional corruption, and a final crossing into a rewilding North America.
This is not a story of zombies, lone-wolf fantasy, or endless wasteland violence. It is a grounded, character-driven saga about community, balance, and the question that comes after survival:
how do people protect life without becoming rulers over it?

The Central Question
Most post-apocalyptic fiction asks what people will do to survive.
The Solstorm Saga™ begins there, but it does not stop there.
Once the first hunger, fear, and violence have passed, a harder question emerges: what should be built in their place? A refuge can become a settlement. A settlement can become an institution. An institution can protect life, preserve memory, and create continuity, but it can also begin to harden, justify itself, and reach too far.
At the heart of the saga is a single tension: can human beings create order without becoming tyrants? Can they defend life without turning power into rule? Can strength remain bounded by restraint?
That is the real struggle running beneath all five books.

The Shape of the Five Books
Book One - Survival
A solar storm destroys the systems that make modern life possible. On a Norwegian island, scattered survivors begin the hard work of staying alive, finding each other, and building the first fragile foundations of Skjoldheim.
Book Two - Founding
What begins as refuge slowly becomes structure. On the island, archive, law, radio, and memory begin to take form as the first foundations of the Guardians are laid.
Book Three - Expansion
From the North Atlantic to distant foreign coasts, the world opens. Over six years and a global circumnavigation, the creed born in one northern refuge is tested against distance, danger, and the temptations that come with success.
Book Four - Reckoning
When the voyagers return to Skjoldheim, they find not ruin but a home transformed by its own success. The danger is no longer only outside. It is inside the very order they helped build.
Book Five - Culmination
The final movement carries the saga across rivers, inland routes, and a rewilding North America, where the deepest question of the series is tested at full scale: can a mature order break predation without keeping power for itself?

What Makes It Different
Set in Norway and grounded in maritime realism, The Solstorm Saga™ is shaped by seamanship, weather, practical skill, radio communication, memory, and the slow work of rebuilding. It is a story of families, crews, settlements, and institutions, where community matters more than lone-wolf fantasy and power is always measured against restraint.

Balance
Everything in the saga returns to it.
The balance between mercy and necessity.
The balance between strength and restraint.
The balance between human settlement and the living world.
The balance between protecting life and trying to control it.
The Solstorm Saga™ begins with collapse.
But its deeper story is balance, and the cost of keeping it.
